PNM will host a bill assistance event on March 27 at Los Griegos Community Center from noon to 2 p.m. to help eligible customers manage energy bills by offering Good Neighbor Fund grants, energy efficiency tips, and financial literacy information—customers must bring a past-due bill, proof of income, and valid photo ID.

The New Mexico Environment Department and Department of Health warned residents that dust storms may cause health problems such as asthma attacks, allergies, and valley fever — a fungus from dry soil that leads to pneumonia-like symptoms.

Acting Bureau Chief Chelsea Langer said people, especially children, older individuals, and those with asthma, should cover their face with an N95 mask or stay indoors if possible.
