- ➤ A New Mexico State Police officer was arrested in Rio Rancho on May 2 for driving while intoxicated, causing a crash near NM 528 + 550, fleeing the scene and driving recklessly, and he is now on administrative leave while the investigation continues. Sandoval Signpost

- ➤ The New Mexico Department of Health is urging residents to use the 5—3—1 method to check air quality on smoky days by viewing landmarks at 5, 3, and 1 mile; people aged 65, young children, and pregnant women should limit outdoor activity if visibility is reduced.
