GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Reps. Gabe Vasquez and Ryan Zinke launched the Public Lands Caucus yesterday—aiming to protect public lands by introducing the Public Lands in Public Hands Act, which requires Congressional approval for large land transfers.   • Sen. Jay Block from Rio Rancho briefed Sandoval County officials on key wins from the 60-day session, including a $1 billion behavioral health endowment, tax relief for veterans, and funding for local infrastructure. He said he will reintroduce a stalled medical malpractice bill in the next session as lawmakers address healthcare and economic issues—drawing on his county commission experience.  Sandoval Signpost
