  • Local skies are busier as nearly 10 million birds pass through during migration season—up from 2.6 million last month. Brian Anderson of the Central New Mexico Bird Alliance urges residents to turn off unnecessary lights and close their blinds to help prevent reflective surfaces from confusing the birds—keeping their migration on track.  KOAT

HEALTH NEWS

  • Rep. Melanie Stansbury and former U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland have opposed proposed Medicaid cuts that could reduce coverage for over 90,000 New Mexicans as part of a House reconciliation bill estimated to cut health spending by $715 billion—raising concerns for low-income families and rural providers.
