  • Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull will join civic leaders in ARCA’s 14th Annual Bowl-A-Thon this Saturday at Tenpins and More from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to raise funds for ARCA, which supports individuals with intellectual, developmental, and cognitive disabilities.  Sandoval Signpost

CRIME NEWS

  • A Rio Rancho high school baseball player aged 16 no longer faces 15 counts of battery for allegedly urinating in an opposing team's water jug during a March game against La Cueva after the district attorney's office ruled the conduct does not violate state law— his team was suspended for the season during the investigation.  KOAT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rep. Melanie Stansbury submitted 15 community project funding requests totaling $158,450,000 to support projects across New Mexico in the upcoming 2026 budget process. The funding includes $48 million for Bernalillo and Corrales for a new behavioral health center and wastewater treatment upgrades—efforts that aim to meet urgent community needs.  Sandoval Signpost
  • Emergency management officials advise Rio Rancho residents to shelter in an interior room on the lowest level—such as a bathroom or closet—if a tornado warning is issued and to prepare an emergency kit with food, water, medication and supplies for pets. They noted that a 1985 tornado near the State Fair caused about $100,000 in damage, underscoring the need to be ready for rare tornado events.  KOAT
