KOAT has named Byron Morton as its new chief meteorologist—following Joe Diaz’s retirement at the end of May.

Morton, who joined the Action 7 News team in December 2001, will report at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. alongside Shelly Ribando and Doug Fernandez.

SouthWest Writers and New Mexico Arts will launch their new military anthology 'Unbreaking the Circle' at Corrales Community Library on June 28 from 11 am to 12:30 pm—this book features stories from Rio Rancho Coffee Group members, veterans, and families that were developed through a writing therapy group at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center.
