HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ New data shows food insecurity in New Mexico has grown over the past six years as harvest jobs cause large swings in employment—workers picking onions and chile face tough times—with children and seniors among those most at risk. Officials warn that if SNAP funding is cut, the food shortage could worsen. KOAT
- ➤ The New Mexico Department of Health issued a measles alert on Friday after two travelers were diagnosed--an adult with unknown vaccines and an 18-month-old who had gotten shots--bringing the state’s total to 81 cases. Health officials said people at locations such as the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center (Monday, June 2, 1–4 p.m.) should check their vaccination status and watch for symptoms over the next 21 days.
