DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced $11.4 million in disaster relief funding for Ruidoso after deadly flash flooding destroyed homes.
She visited the area on August 20 and the funds will pay for repairs of roads+bridges and help families rebuild.
Ruidoso received $11.4M in disaster relief funds for recovery projects from last year’s South Fork and Salt Fires—$2.1M is allocated to the village while $3.1M for emergency response is expected by today or tomorrow.
Officials continue planning as monsoon rains through September 30 pose an ongoing flood threat.
