  • PNM’s parent company TXNM filed an application on Monday to sell PNM to Blackstone for $11.5 billion and detailed a deal that includes a $105 million acquisition rate credit to lower residential bills by 3.5% if state and federal regulators approve. The deal keeps PNM locally managed—ensuring investments in clean energy and the local workforce while Blackstone holds TXNM for at least 10 years.  KOAT

  • A viewer video captured a bear crossing a dirt road near Chessman Drive NE in northern Rio Rancho on Monday, Aug. 25, and KOAT has contacted New Mexico Game & Fish for further updates.  KOAT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Engineer Elizabeth Anderson denied the transfer of water rights needed to reopen the Copper Flat Mine near Hillsboro because it could lower future water supply and break state water deals with Texas—concerns that affect local homes and farms.  KOAT
