  • Route 66 celebrated its 99th birthday on November 11 and KOAT will cover its story over the next year as it builds up to a centennial celebration. The road runs through New Mexico and is a key part of American heritage—promising programs that explore its past and plans for its future.  KOAT

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Nov. 11, residents across New Mexico saw the Aurora Borealis as the sky lit up in red with photos submitted from Rio Rancho, Edgewood, Escabosa, and Pecos. The rare display—captured by many across the state—provided a striking natural light show.  KOAT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State leaders set aside $20 million each week from the Health Care Authority and an emergency reserve to keep SNAP benefits flowing until Jan 19, ensuring New Mexico recipients will receive their EBT payments while lawmakers await federal action—if federal benefits return, unspent funds will revert to the Medicaid trust fund.  KOAT
