ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today the New Mexico Environment Department released a draft rule to lower the carbon intensity of transportation fuels and asked the Environmental Improvement Board to adopt the new, technology-neutral regulations. The rule follows a 2024 law signed by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and aims for a reduction of at least 20% from 2018 levels by 2030 and 30% by 2040 — public comments are expected to begin mid-June for 60 days. Sandoval Signpost
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Rio Rancho City Council unanimously delayed action on the Chamisa Hills master plan—which would rezone the former Club Rio Rancho golf course for over 300 homes and mixed-use areas—after a crowded meeting where residents raised concerns about traffic, drainage, and open space.
