- ➤ A Rio Rancho high school baseball player aged 16 no longer faces 15 counts of battery for allegedly urinating in an opposing team's water jug during a March game against La Cueva after the district attorney's office ruled the conduct does not violate state law— his team was suspended for the season during the investigation. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rep. Melanie Stansbury submitted 15 community project funding requests totaling $158,450,000 to support projects across New Mexico in the upcoming 2026 budget process. The funding includes $48 million for Bernalillo and Corrales for a new behavioral health center and wastewater treatment upgrades—efforts that aim to meet urgent community needs. Sandoval Signpost
- ➤ Emergency management officials advise Rio Rancho residents to shelter in an interior room on the lowest level—such as a bathroom or closet—if a tornado warning is issued and to prepare an emergency kit with food, water, medication and supplies for pets.
